Leadership
The Wise County Office of Economic & Industrial Development works under the direction of the Wise County Board of Supervisors and in collaboration with the Wise County Industrial Development Authority.
The Board of Supervisors, the County’s governing body, is made up of eight elected members — two from each of the County’s four districts. Supervisors serve four-year terms, with elections staggered every two years to ensure steady, experienced leadership.
The Wise County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) manages the county’s economic development assets, including sites, buildings, and other resources that support business growth. Its eight-member board is appointed by the Wise County Board of Supervisors and represents a cross-section of the county’s business community, bringing real-world expertise and insight to guide investment and development.
Wise County’s leaders have a clear priority: making Wise County a great place to do business. Through business-friendly policies, competitive tax rates, and targeted incentive programs, they are committed to attracting new investment while supporting the growth and success of existing businesses.
